St. Anthony 1992
Plaster
68" high
St. Anthony was modeled in clay in 1992. The bronze version is in an edition of nine, of which one is in New York City. St. Anthony stands mute and unaffected by his surrounding, showing signs of severe over-stimulation. He is an archetypal modern "poisonality". A second figure is meant to be paired with him, standing right in front of him. This figure will be a dancing, alluring Queen of Sheila. This pairing is one of a larger set of "Couples", which includes Judith and Holofernes, The Kiss of Death, The Last Stand, The Raising of Lazarus, Triage and others.
