Synagogue 1985
Bronze
96" high
This piece was constructed in clay and plaster in 1985. Inspiration for this piece was drawn from the Synagogue figure of the south portal of Strasbourg Cathedral, twisted in humiliation, yet serenely beautiful. This sculpture exists in a bronze edition of nine. Casts of this piece are in West Conshohocken, PA and Bryn Mawr, PA. A cast will be placed permanently at the Berman Museum, Collegeville, PA in the summer of 2003. Here it will reside in close proximity to the sculpture of the artist's dear friend Michael Price (1941-2001).
